Arkansas Sports Information Director Kevin Trainor says he believes Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson flew to Arkansas last night to meet with Razorback coach Houston Nutt.

Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles confirmed earlier that Nebraska officials were planning to speak with Nutt about the Nebraska coaching vacancy.

Nutt said Thursday morning that there had been no contact with Nebraska but Broyles said Pederson called him Wednesday.

Broyles told the AP that he sensed Nutt had a good shot at the job. Asked if he thought Nutt was at the top of the list, Broyles said, "I don't think there's any list. I think that (Nutt) is the top."

Broyles said yesterday afternoon he expects to find out within 24 hours if he should start looking to fill a coaching vacancy of his own.

Broyles noted that Nebraska has a strong program with, "lots of money." Asked whether Arkansas would match any financial package Nebraska might offer, Broyles said it certainly would be considered.
