Something in the water? Maybe.
Grand Island's St. Francis Medical Center says it has had a second straight year for record numbers of new arrivals at the hospital.
Babies born in Grand Island this past year totaled 1,062.
Nurse Carolyn Spencer says no one is ever turned away but there are times when nurses have to be creative getting everyone placed.
Last year the hospital had 1,024 newborns.
Spencer says she thinks one reason for the records might be St. Francis' quality reputation. She says that may be keeping more people close to home to deliver their children instead of going elsewhere.
