Bookkeeper Pleads No Contest to Embezzlement

An Atlanta, Nebraska woman has made a plea agreement in an embezzlement case in Holdrege, Nebraska.
According to a media release from the Phelps County Attorney, 61-year old Teresa Erickson entered a no contest plea to five of 16 counts of theft by unlawful taking.
She was charged with stealing from Sargent Irrigation of Holdrege where she was a bookkeeper for 28 years. She was found guilty on the five counts filed against her and ordered to pay $126,489.35 in restitution. She also faces 20 years in prison, a $25,000 fine, or both, on each count.
The thefts occurred between December, 1999 and October, 2008.
Sentencing for Erickson has been set for November 4.
