NU Athletic Director Steve Pederson says he'll be more open about the search for a new head football coach.
Pederson held a news conference Saturday addressing the progress of his search for a replacement for Frank Solich. Pederson says too much false information was floating around that needed to be corrected.
One thing Pederson won't be discussing, however, is specific names of people who have been interviewed or will be interviewed. Pederson says he won't do this because releasing the name of a coaching prospect could put that person's current job in jeopardy.
Pederson acknowleged at the news conference that if he had to do the first month of the search over again, he would. He said for now on, the athletic department need to be more open about the process and that they would try to release any information they can.
The Nebraska football team has been without a permanent head coach since November 29, when Frank Solich was fired after a 9-3 season.
