The annual Nebraska Walk for Life took place Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the State Capital. The focus of the Walk on the Capital was the passage of LB 602, the bill before the Nebraska Legislature which would ban both reproductive and research cloning.
At the Capital, postcard sets were distributed to those in attendance, explaining the legislation and asking the attendees to sign and send the postcards to their state senators. LB 602 is expected to come up for legislative debate the week of January 20th.
At 10:30 a.m. hundreds of demonstrators made their way eight blocks to the UNL Student Union to hear David Bereit speak about efforts in Texas to close Planned Parenthood clinics.
