Little damage resulted when the Nebraska State Patrol bomb squad detonated an explosive device found under a pickup in central Hastings this morning (Monday).
The patrol experts examined the device authorities say resembled a pipe bomb, then detonated it.
Police received the call about 8:00 this morning and found the device under the right front passenger tire of the truck.
Homes in the immediate vicinity were evacuated and authorities blocked off three blocks around the area as a precaution.
