A Falls City man has been found guilty of manslaughter for crashing a stolen pickup, killing a 27-year-old passenger.
James Mackey pleaded no contest to the charge in Pawnee County District Court. The 28-year-old Mackey is set to be sentenced on Oct. 27.
In exchange for his plea, three other felony charges against Mackey were dismissed.
Authorities say Mackey was driving a stolen pickup on March 11, 2008, when he crashed east of Table Rock in southeast Nebraska. Alisha Miller of Falls City was killed in the crash, and Mackey and two other passengers in the pickup were injured.
