Steven Pap did what he could to stop a driver who took off without paying for his gas.

He says, "The man kept looking at me, but I caught it right away. When I started to walk outside, he drove off."

Pap is a clerk at Kabredlo's Convenience Store. He does his best to prevent drive-offs.

Police Chief Tom Casady says there was more than 1,000 incidents where people drove off without paying for their gas last year. He says if gas stations started pre-pay systems, it would help solve the problem.
