Two people have died on Nebraska roads as a result of Sunday's winter storm.
Nebraska State Patrol says 26-year-old James Brian of Gothenburg, was killed when his vehicle slid and rolled on icy Interstate 80 near Gothenburg early Sunday morning.
In Omaha, police say a 21-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a metal light pole around noon, Sunday. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Just west of Lincoln, a mile-long stretch of Interstate 80 proved treacherous for several drivers. Within an hour's time span, three separate accidents near the NW 48th St. exit sent many people to the hospital. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
Two accidents involved vehicles losing control and rolling onto their top, while a third accident, just yards away from one of the accidents, a car rear-ended a Grand Island man's truck, sending one person in the car to the hospital.
