An ethanol fuel plant in Hastings us under investigation for water pollution.
A search warrant from the Nebraska State Patrol says Chief Ethanol Fuels is believed to have knowingly, intentionally and illegally discharged untreated and under-treated waste water.
That water is thought to have been dumped into the Big Blue River. The facility is also believed to have tampered with sampling measurements required by the Department of Environmental Quality.
The Attorney General's office is handling the investigation. They say the contamination is not thought to be a threat to human health.
