Blizzard conditions in the Panhandle forced the closure of Interstate 80 from Big Springs to the Wyoming line through early Monday.

The season's first severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in the Lincoln and Omaha areas. Omaha Public Power District reported more than 10,000 customers were without power after thunderstorms brought strong winds, rain and hail.

Trees were uprooted, and a lightning strike started a small fire on the roof of a west Omaha home.

Wind gusts peaked at 70 miles an hour in Weeping Water and Plattsmouth. In Lincoln, the roof of a rental car agency was blown off, causing an estimated $10,000 damage.
