The Nebraska State Patrol has found the pickup of the former Lincoln County sheriff's deputy whose body was found along the Tri-County Canal east of Brady Feb. 24.
The patrol says Richard "Rick" Lingbloom's truck was found Tuesday three miles northeast of Jeffery Reservoir. It was about four-and-a-half miles upstream from where they found his body in the irrigation canal east of Brady.
Patrol Sergeant Eric Rice says the truck was found after Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District lowered water levels in the canal. The patrol says the truck was sitting on its tires but would have had a least five feet of murky water over it prior to dropping the water levels.
Investigators still are treating the deaths as suspicious.
Lingbloom's health forced him to retire from the sheriff's office in June 2003. The 27th year law enforcement officer from Maxwell was last seen in November. More than 750 people attended his funeral Saturday.
