The H1N1 flu vaccine is beginning to arrive in Nebraska.
Nebraska Health and Human Services spokeswoman Marla Augustine says about 6,000 doses of the nasal spray vaccines for the H1N1 flu are expected to be delivered Monday to health care providers in 15 Nebraska cities.
In Omaha, the two major hospital companies, Methodist Health System and Alegent Health Care, both received small shipments of the vaccine on Monday.
The first vaccines in Nebraska will likely be administered this week.
Augustine says Nebraska now has permission to order up to 15,000 doses of the inhaled vaccines, but it's hard to say how many will be ordered.
Nebraska doctors should be able to start ordering injectible vaccines later this week.
Very small amounts of the H1N1 flu vaccine aren't expected to arrive in Lincoln until sometime Tuesday. Small amounts of the H1N1 flu vaccine arrived in Grand Island Monday.
