A Lincoln police officer has a broken ankle chasing down a stolen vehicle suspect.
Thirty-five-year-old Officer Brian Tankesley was injured Sunday afternoon after he spotted a vehicle reported stolen on Saturday. Police say he tried to get the driver to pull over, but when he did, the 17-year-old suspect and three passengers took off on foot.
Police say Tankesley captured the driver but in the process of the struggle broke his ankle.
The teen now faces charges that include assault on an officer, resisting arrest and failure to comply with a police officer's order.
The others in the vehicle also were captured and issued citations. The fourth person is still at large.
