A 35-year-old man charged with manslaughter in the traffic death of a 19-year-old former Kearney woman has been found competent to stand trial.

Robin Siefker faces the charge for a fatal Thanksgiving Day crash that killed Heather Poppe.

Siefker is accused of driving his pickup the wrong way down Interstate 80 on Nov. 28, 2002, and hitting Poppe's car head-on.

Siefker was arrested in January after his release from the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. He was treated there for injuries suffered in the crash.

Siefker has pleaded innocent to the charge. A trial date had not been set by Monday. If convicted, Siefker faces up to 20 years in prison.
