We've all heard of the dog days of Summer...But what about the dog days of Autumn?
That's what a farm and pumpkin patch in Avoca is celebrating, and it's all for a good cause.
Saturday was the 3rd annual Doggy Day at "Bloom Where You're Planted" farm.
Visitors and their canine companions rode and played around the farm, with proceeds benefiting the Capital Humane Society.
Teresa Lorensen, co-owner of the farm and pumpkin patch, says, "It provides a service for the Humane Society. We had them come out this morning with some dogs that were up for adoption and they had their literature out too. The admission that we charge for the dogs goes to the Humane Society."
Families can also take hayrides, take part in a scavenger hunt and even paint a pumpkin.
The farm and pumpkin patch is open to the public Friday through Sunday until November 1st.
