In the center of a big blue room filled with toys and child-sized chairs sits Melissa Flores, reading a picture book.

Five Crete preschoolers are clustered around her ready to give answers when she asks questions.

The children are all in different stages of learning English.

Flores works for a program called CIRCLE. It gives children a chance to attend preschool when they would not be albe to go.

The program is for children of parents who make too much to qualify for Head Start and whose primary language is not English.

The goal of the program is to give students the English skills necessary to move on to kindergarten.

Flores says the program seems to be working.

She says, quote "It's so neat how they transition so easily."
