Gov. Johanns's mental health care reform initiative grew by over two dozen supporters just one day before legislative hearings are set to begin.
The proposal, also known as L-B 1083, calls for the closure of the Hastings and Norfolk regional center by the end of 2005.
The Legaslature's Health committee will begin hearing testimony on L-B 1083 Wednesday afternoon. Both Hastings and Norfolk have chartered buses to bring supporters to the state capitol for the hearings. Gov. Johanns is expected to testify at the hearing.
