Explosives were found in the trunk of a Malcolm High School student's car Tuesday morning.
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Department says 20 pipe bombs and a loaded semi-automatic rifle were in the trunk.
The Nebraska State Patrols bomb robot helped detonate some of those devices Tuesday afternoon.
School administrators in Malcolm were tipped off by a student who warned them of a possible hazardous situation. They went looking for a teen, and found the 17-year-old intoxicated in the parking lot of the school. He then told school officials about the bombs in his car.
The teen was arrested for possession of an explosive. Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says more charges may come later on. As for now, they're not releasing the teen’s name.
