Alcohol use is suspected in a fatal crash just west of Maxwell in western Nebraska.
Lincoln County authorities say 18-year-old David Pederson Jr. of Brady likely fell asleep early Sunday morning as he was driving his pickup near mile marker 188 on U.S. Highway 30.
His truck crossed the center line and drifted off the roadway. It slammed into a pole, then rolled at least twice.
An accident report says Pederson was ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Authorities are awaiting results of blood tests before making a final determination on what caused the accident.
