After nearly a year in Iraq, 27 soldiers from Nebraska have returned home.

But before they could reunite with their families Saturday, the soldiers were briefed on how to get back into civilian life. That included the discussion of some dark topics, like suicide awareness and domestic violence prevention.

Chaplain David Smith led the briefings. He told the soldiers it is harder to reunite with their lives than it was to separate from them.

The soldiers' families also attended a meeting to prepare for their loved ones' return.

For a year, the soldiers served in the 101st Airborne Division in northern Iraq.
