A 50-year-old Lincoln man has been sentenced to up to six years in prison and had his driver's license suspended for 15 years -- for a second time.
Police say an officer stopped Samuel Alvarez on Jan. 19 for an expired registration tag. After running a check, the officer learned that Alvarez's license had been suspended for 15 years starting in 1994 for a third offense of drunken driving.
Alvarez had just six months left on that suspension when he was stopped and arrested.
On Tuesday, a Lancaster County District judge sentenced Alvarez to three-to-six years in prison and revoked his license for another 15 years for driving during a period of revocation.
