A 22-year-old Kearney man accused of dragging a horse behind a trailer has been found guilty of drunken driving.
Tyler Brockman pleaded no contest Wednesday in Buffalo County Court to DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.15 percent. The state limit is 0.08 percent.
In exchange for his plea, a vehicle registration charge was dismissed.
Sentencing was set for December.
Brockman also faces a felony charge in Dawson County of cruel neglect of an animal. Arraignment there is set for Nov. 13.
Witnesses say Brockman left the Sumner Rodeo on July 4 with a horse tied behind his trailer and that the horse was dragged for about a mile.
There is no public phone listing for Brockman. His attorney did not immediately return a call Thursday.
