70 Nebraska Soldiers Stationed at Fort Hood During Shooting
Lincoln, Neb. Members of the Lincoln-based 313th Medical Company were stationed at Fort Hood at the time of the shooting Thursday.

Members of the Lincoln-based 313th Medical Company were stationed at Fort Hood at the time of the shooting Thursday.
According to Lt. Col. Bob Vrana, the unit was about 20 miles from the location of the shooting. He said all 70 Nebraska soldiers are safe and accounted for.
The 313th departed Lincoln Oct. 17 for training at Fort Hood, Texas. The unit will be deployed overseas to an unnamed destination.
The medical unit will evacuate wounded soldiers and provided medical treatment. This is the unit's second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 313th was deployed from October 2004 through November 2005.
