An initiative to help Nebraskans better manage their personal finances will get under way next week.

Activities ranging from classes on creating a budget to workshops on identity theft are planned across the state as part of Money Smart Nebraska Week, which kicks off Monday.

The effort is coordinated by the Nebraska Financial Education Coalition, a group of nearly 100 organizations in the state working to promote personal financial literacy.

Nebraskans of all ages are invited to participate in the seminars, workshops, online challenges and other events. They'll address topics like home buying, estate planning, saving and investing and using credit cards wisely.
