Many people don't realize Memorial Stadium is more than just Nebraska's shrine to Husker football. It was built in honor of the brave men and women who've died fighting for our country.
During Saturday's Nebraska - Oklahoma game, UNL honored Nebraska's service men and women at Memorial Stadium with front row seats for the game.
It couldn't have come at a more appropriate time following the tragedy at Fort Hood, where a gunman killed 13 people earlier in the week.
"Obviously anytime even one, or it doesn't matter the number, servicemen loose their lives it's something we take to heart. Americans in general do too. It's just a tragedy," Said U.S. Army Major Jeff Searcey.
Veterans day is Wednesday.
