All three members of Nebraska's delegation joined fellow Republicans in voting against the health-care reform bill that passed in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, who represents the 1st District, said health care needs to be overhauled but that the trillion-dollar plan that passed 220-215 Saturday night is "very risky" and "mind-numbingly complex."
Rep. Adrian Smith of the 3rd District and Rep. Lee Terry of the 2nd District say the plan opens the door for a federal government takeover of health care.
Smith says he fears lost jobs, higher taxes and the formation of more than 100 new federal bureaucracies.
Terry says people who keep the plans they have now ultimately would pay more for health care.

Has'nt the government taken over enough of our lives? The older people (myself) stand to lose health care, or go to jail for not being able to afford it. Where does it stop? Illeagle alians will be better off than we are.
Nebraska's health insurance lobby is one of the strongest in the nation. They usually control our "reps" vote, and they stand to post an even higher profit than last year. You get what you pay for!
Does this surprise anyone???? Come on that was what they were SUPPOSE to do.
