Manufactured home and modular building maker Champion Enterprises Inc. says it is not planning any layoffs at its York plant as part of its restructuring.
Champion says the York plant should continue operating regularly during the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The Troy, Michigan based company employs about 200 people in York.
Earlier this week, a bankruptcy judge approved Champion's plan to use up to $31 million of debtor-in-posession financing it received from some of its lenders to pay some of its operating expenses.
Champion says that means it will be able to honor all the paychecks it has issued and continue operating.
