The Nebraska State Patrol said the driver of a semi was killed in a three-vehicle crash a quarter mile south of Bruning at the junction of Highway 4 and 81.

Deb Collins with NSP said there was heavy fog and low visibility when the crash happened Thursday at 7:30 a.m.

Collins said a propane tanker driven by 29-year-old Joel Voss of Bruning was headed east on Hwy 4 attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Hwy 81 when the tanker was broadsided by a semi traveling south on Hwy 81.

Collins said the cab of semi came to rest beneath the propane tanker and was hit by 2002 Chevy Cavalier driven by 41-year-old Kimberly Wills of St. Edwards, Neb.

Collins said the driver of the semi, 38-year-old Vladymyr Kuziv of Manitoba, Canada, was killed and Wills is at BryanLGH West with serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.

The fog was terrible that morning and has made me realize, as a parent, that this is one reason that school should start late. The school bus travels this route to get my child, along with many others, to school and i feel so lucky that the bus was not hit. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim, as well to the man who was driving the propane truck.
