As of 2:00 p.m. Friday, power was restored to all residential Norris Public Power District customers. The District is aware there are a number of uninhabited services without power. Crews will continue to restore power to these areas going forward. If you are still without power, you're asked to contact Norris Public Power.
As of Monday evening, the District had over 4,200 customers without power. Most of the damage located in the southern portions of Gage, Jefferson and Thayer counties stemmed from heavy, wet snow and wind causing hundreds of broken poles and downed power lines. The District feels fortunate to have had the mutual aid help from Butler Public Power, Custer Public Power, Perennial Public Power, Polk Public Power, Seward County Public Power, South Central Public Power, Southern Public Power, Nebraska Public Power, Beatrice Board of Public Works and Schmader Electric.
