Authorities are trying to find out what caused a fatal collision on U.S. Highway 30 near Gibbon in south-central Nebraska.
The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office says two cars collided around 6:40 p.m. Sunday.
Both drivers were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. One of them, 52-year-old Jerry Codner of Wood River, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. An autopsy has been ordered.
No information was released on the condition of the other driver, 34-year-old Jose Murillo Avina of Shelton. A hospital spokeswoman said Monday that Avina was in good condition.
Both drivers were alone in their vehicles.
