The Lancaster County Sheriff's Tactical Response Unit successfully ended a standoff Tuesday night.
Chief Deputy Bill Jarrett says deputies originally responded to a home at 4:00 pm Tuesday at 5001 W. A because 34 year old Rodney Roach had called his father and said he was going to kill him and blow up his house.
When deputies arrived they contacted Roach outside, but he quickly retreated inside the home. Deputies tried to talk with Roach several times before he locked them out and stopped talking.
Jarrett said the Tactical Response Unit was called in to handle the situation. After trying to talk with Roach the team entered the home and found him in a semi-conscious state on the kitchen floor. Jarrett said it appeared he had been drinking.
Roach was taken into custody at 6:25 pm. He is still in custody but has not yet been arrested.
Deputies never found anything dangerous inside the home.
Deputies say they had asked drivers to avoid the area of West A while they dealt with the situation but the street reopened later that night.
