Hastings Public School's first "Town Hall Meeting" of the 2009-2010 school year will focus on increased enrollment.
"For the past three years, the Hastings Public School District has experienced consistent elementary enrollment growth. Most of the District’s elementary buildings, if not all, are basically full," said a statement from the district.
Questions will be posed to participants at the meeting:
* Should the District have one more year of enrollment growth at the elementary level, it appears the District may be four or more classrooms short of the classrooms needed to serve the growing population. How would you solve the problem?
* What does it mean to you when the Hastings Public School District says its purpose is “to assure all students acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential to be responsible citizens and successful individuals?”
These and other topics of interest will be discussed at the Hastings Public Schools Board of Education’s “Town Hall Meeting” on Monday, November 30, 7:00 p.m., at Lincoln Elementary School, 720 S. Franklin Ave.
Members of the Board will be there to listen to community members’ input.
