A man has received a 12-to-18-month sentence for driving his car into three people at a racetrack in Norfolk.
Twenty-year-old Michael Clemens of Norfolk was sentenced in Madison County District Court this week on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident and three misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault.
According to court testimony, Clemens had been drinking and in an argument with the three victims when he drove into them. Clemens then left the racetrack.
The men received only minor injuries.
Clemens said he was only trying to scare the men because he feared they were going to assault him.
Clemens received credit for the 99 days he has already served.
