The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a semi-truck and train collision that happened just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday. NSP says it happened near Clarks, in Merrick County.
Troopers say the semi driver took a turn too tight from Highway 30 onto 28th Road and got a wheel stuck in a culvert.
Nebraska State Patrol says the truck was stopped on the tracks when the train hit. The cab was torn away from the rest of the truck and caught fire.
The driver only sustained cuts to the face and a broken leg. He was taken to a Central City hospital before being transported to Lincoln.
Nebraska State Patrol says the driver's name has not been released and authorities were still on scene at 4 a.m. cleaning the debris.
