Thursday, the Honorable Richard G. Kopf, United States District Judge in Lincoln, Nebraska, sentenced 29-year-old Johun Anderson to 60 months imprisonment following his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Upon his release from prison, Anderson will also serve a 3 year term of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment. The firearm was also forfeited to the United States.

Anderson came to the attention of the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office on January 2, 2009, when a Deputy came upon a stalled vehicle west of Dunbar, Nebraska. The officer determined, after a search of the vehicle, that Anderson was in possession of a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun.

Anderson had been previously convicted of a felony offense in 2002.
