Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will host a rally in Omaha to persuade Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson to withdrawal his support of sweeping health care legislation.
The rally sponsored by Americans for Prosperity of Nebraska is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Huckabee will be joined by Nebraska Congressman Lee Terry and several state senators.
Nelson said Saturday that he decided to support the reform measure after winning concessions to limit the availability of abortions in insurance sold in newly created exchanges, as well as tens of million in federal Medicaid funds for Nebraska.
