Authorities have released the names of three people who died in a collision on an icy highway in south-central Nebraska.
The Adams County sheriff's department said Manuela Montanez and her husband, Abel Aldava, were in a van that collided with a pickup just before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. The couple, both 40, lived in rural Hastings.
Deputy Dan Furman says the pickup driver was identified at 64-year-old Lloyd "Jim" Hohlen of rural Juniata.
All three were headed to work as they drove down U.S. Highway 6 south of Hastings.
Furman says Montanez was headed east on the highway when she lost control her van. It crossed into the westbound lane and collided with Holen's pickup.
None of the three was wearing a seat belt.
