Lincoln police are investigating yet another daytime burglary, the second one in two days.

According to Captain Peterson of the Lincoln Police Department, this burglary happened Tuesday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Plum Street, near 13th and South Streets.

Peterson says the resident returned from work to a home that appeared to have been ransacked. He says the items stolen include an X-Box, a Wii game, a Nintendo DS, two digital cameras and computer equipment.

Peterson says the initial loss is $1,600.

There are no leads at this time but Peterson said the burglary does fit the pattern of other recent daytime burglaries. He adds that daytime burglaries are usually not the norm so these recent ones are unique.

If you have any information regarding this or any of the other recent burglaries, call Crimestoppers at 475-3600.

Home invasion robbery is only a significant risk for drug dealers. For normal Lincolnites, burglary is possible, not a home invasion robbery. Chief Casady has blogged before about this, and said that there have been only two non-drug-related Lincoln home invasions in his entire career. The news stories don't mention this, because they like scared news customers.

I suggest if you are home alone during the day that you invest in a shotgun for home protection. These scumbags deserve to be shot upon entering anyone's home. I have no sympathy for these low lifes!

This has been going on for close to a month and it has been in the newspaper as well as the radio and on the news with all the information one should want or need to know. In most of the cases they are entering through locked front doors.
