Fireworks fans in Nebraska will likely have fewer reasons to drive to Missouri and other states to buy their goodies.
State lawmakers on Friday gave first-round approval to a bill (LB880) that would end the requirement that the state fire marshal test fireworks before they are sold.
Federal testing would instead be relied upon, increasing the types of available fireworks.
But some fireworks banned now -- such as bottle rockets -- would still be banned. Also, sparklers on gold or silver wires would be banned, along with firecrackers with more than 50 milligrams of explosives, nighttime parachutes, and several other fireworks.
The bill would also allow fireworks to be sold during the three days leading up to New Year's Day.

I agree with Sam. People don't drive to Missouri to buy fireworks early. They go there to get the stuff they can't get here.
people are still going to go to other states to buy bottle rockets and what they concider illegal here, sounds like they arent really making any changes
