A 60-year-old California woman who had stolen money from her elderly mother in Omaha has been sentenced to prison.
The office of Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning says Annigje "Ann" Perkins was given 16-to-20 months in prison for taking more than $43,000 from her mother.
In December, Perkins, who is from Sacramento, Calif., had pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking.
Authorities say that, between November 2005 and September 2008, Perkins had her mother's power of attorney.
Bruning's office says Perkins took money from her mother's bank accounts, cashed in two annuities and sold her mother's mobile home.
