Lincoln Police arrested two local men overnight for two counts of Larceny from Auto.
Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says at 3:53 a.m. this morning, a caller notified police of two men acting suspicious near 42nd and Normal Boulevard. The caller told police the men were climbing in the bed of a muddy truck and hiding in the shadows.
Flood says when police arrived on scene, officers found 21-year-old Christopher Abbott near a green Ford Taurus. Flood says Abbott was taking a car stereo out of the vehicle, and she says 20-year-old Jeffery Munns was standing by as a lookout.
Flood says Abbott was immediately taken into custody. But she says when an officer approached Munns, he kicked toward the officer and ran away. Flood says the foot chase ended when Munns jumped down a 6' embankment into Antelope Creek.
According to Flood, both Munns and Abbott were arrested for two counts of Larceny from Auto. Munns was also arrested for Resisting Arrest and Failure to Comply.
