Traffic Stop Near Lincoln Leads to 49 Lbs of Marijuana

A traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Lincoln, Thursday, July 29, 2010, led to the seizure of 49 lbs. of hydroponic marijuana and one arrest.
Around 2:40 Thursday afternoon, a trooper stopped a 2010 Cadillac, eastbound on I-80 near mm 397, for following too close. A Lincoln Police Department K-9 alerted to the odor of drugs near the rear of the car. A search led to the discovery of 49.3 lbs. of hydroponic marijuana in several bags in the trunk.
The sole occupant of the car, Paul Carl Riedel (DOB 5/17/61) was arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail. Reidel had ID’s showing addresses from Midlothian, Virginia, and Santa Rosa, California.
