Asteroids and comets will be the focus of an Omaha Science Cafe next week.

Astronomy and physics instructor David Kriegler will discuss asteroids and comets beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.

Kriegler is director of the Mallory Kountze Planetarium the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He's also developed online courses in physics and astronomy and an astronomy lab that's part of UNO's online curriculum for several degrees.

Science CafΘs involve face-to-face conversations with scientists about current science topics.

They are open to people 21 and older and take place in casual settings such as pubs and coffeehouses.
