A 27-year-old Beatrice man has been given 40-to-120 months in prison for violating the state's sex offender registration laws.
Beatrice radio station KWBE reports that Tee Cheramie was sentenced on Wednesday by Judge Paul Korslund in Gage County District Court.
Cheramie was given 20-to-60 months for failing to register every six months. He also was given 20-to-60 months for another violation of the sex offender law and for furnishing false information. Those sentences are to be served at the same time but after the time he serves for failing to register as required.
Korslund gave Cheramie credit for 71 days he'd spent in jail, awaiting disposition of his case.
