Car Accident Kills 2 in Northeast Nebraska

Northeast Nebraska officials are investigating a car crash that killed two people in Norfolk.

Norfolk Police Capt. Leon Chapman says in a statement that the driver and passenger in a car that collided with a semitrailer truck died Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. at an intersection with U.S. Highway 81 on the north side of Norfolk.

Chapman says the driver of the semi was injured, and the two people in the car died.

Police did not immediately release the names of the people who were killed.
