Seven area fire and rescue departments helped fight a grass fire which started near 98th Street and Raymond Road near Waverly.
Our reporter on scene said she could see the fire from several miles away.
People in the area, said it stretched from 98th to 112th Street and Raymond Road to Branched Oak Road.
Our reporter says a harvested corn field is on fire and she can see flames. There's also heavy smoke in the area. Firefighters are spraying water on the stubble trying to put the fire out.
She says she's seen trucks from Waverly and Southeast Fire Departments. There are reports of up to six departments responding. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office also has deputies on scene as well.
She says firefighters are also in place tilling the fire lines.
Our reporter says there are homes in the area, but it doesn't appear that anyone is being evacuated and from what she can tell, the fire hasn't damaged any homes.
Meteorologist Tony DeGrand says current wind speeds in the Lincoln area are between 15-20mph, gusting up to 25 mph. Those winds are out of the west.
