Driver Crashes into Omaha Performing Arts Center

Police say the gaping hole left in the lobby of downtown Omaha's Holland Performing Arts Center was left by a drunken driver.

A sport utility vehicle crashed into the glass building early Saturday.

Investigators say the driver first clipped a car, ran a red light and rear-ended a minivan before crashing through four or five panes of glass in the Holland Center's lobby around 2:30 a.m.

Police say the driver of the SUV was not injured, but a passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

A symphony event at the Holland Center is still scheduled for Saturday evening.
