Authorities say a grass fire has blackened a little over three square miles north of North Platte in western Nebraska.

The blaze was reported a little after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Crews and trucks from 10 departments soon were involved, and they have contained the fire.

Authorities think the fire was started by a vehicle driving in tall grass.

No injuries have been reported, nor any damage to buildings.
