Gov. Dave Heineman is reminding residents to fly all U.S. and Nebraska flags at half-staff to honor the late U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

The governor says all flags should be lowered on Tuesday to remember Specter, who represented his state in the Senate for 30 years. Specter died on Sunday at his home in Philadelphia after a battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was 82.

The reminder came after President Barack Obama issued ordered all flags lowered throughout the country.
